AUDITION INFORMATION for 2013

 The All-State Vocal Learning CD will be available at a later date from Educational Enterprises Recording Company (EERC). Check this link to find out when it is available.

 2013 Audition Reminders:
There will be no deviances allowed whatsoever from the procedure as listed in the NMMEA Handbook (which are included below for your convenience). In particular, the sight-reading portion of the audition will require the playing of the tonal series (scale, arpeggio as specified, tonic, starting pitch) both before AND after the one minute study period. This will be done by the accompanist (or, in the absence of an accompanist, by the judge). The Handbook does not indicate that the student may not sing along with the tonal series, so this is up to the student and their instructor. However, the playing of the series as specified must happen in each and every audition.
Section 2 e. states that "all auditions are to be heard in one audition" which causes some confusion.  It is referring to the idea that once an audition starts, all three components must be concluded in one continuous seven-minute time period.

The All-State Audition Judging Sheets are provided as a resource for teachers and students. The audition team members will be provided completed judging sheets for each student who registers to audition for the 2012 All-State.
