Beginning Date: 2021-2022 School Year Salary: $12.75 / Grade 13 Job Description: Educational Assistant Position Title: Choir Piano Accompanist Reports to: Principal PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Instructional and Artistic Duties: Accompanies assigned choir ensembles Arrives prepared and on time to accompany ensemble(s) / student(s) Ability to assist teachers in classroom and performance settings Attends all sessions in location designated by Choir Director(s) Accompanies recitals and or concerts where applicable Attends extra rehearsals as needed and agreed to with Choir Director(s) Participates in Music Department meetings Participates in Deming High School and Red Mountain Middle School faculty/staff meetings, when requested to do so Submit leave request forms in a timely manner to the Principal Understands the goals, objectives, priorities and responsibilities of the Choir Program(s) /Music Department(s), and aligns instruction accordingly. Completes all Deming Public Schools required training in a timely manner Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrates ability to work with people of all backgrounds and ages Establish and maintain effective relationships with others. Behaves ethically and with personal integrity Communicates clearly and maintains organization Displays professional appearance with students Additional skills required, according to area of artistic expertise Understands instructional objectives and disciplinary expectations. Understands Emergency and safety procedures. Knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures, and objectives of assigned programs. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Perform routine duties. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) College/Music course work and prior experience preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Educational Assistant K-12 license and Substitute license preferred. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents,and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. Requirements

High School Diploma or College/work in field, Educational Assistant K-12 license and Substitute license preferred.
