A great chance to be a part of a newly re-established music and band program in the beautiful Española Valley of Northern New Mexico. Half way between Santa Fe and Taos, Española offers beautiful views, affordable cost of living, and premiere access to fishing, camping, river and snow sports. Candidate will spend the mornings teaching K-6 music at Dixon and Velarde Elementary schools as well as pre-K- and kindergarten music at Los Ninos Kindergarten center and will assist with 7th grade Beginning woodwinds and beginning Brass/Percussion at Carlos F. Vigil Middle middle school in the afternoons. Strong skills in beginning band and general music preferred. Applicant will work closely with the other band director to build a healthy secondary music and band program for a community that greatly deserves it. Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent in music education with New Mexico Teacher licensure required (many states have reciprocity, check teachnm.org for details.) Salary follows the New Mexico three tiered licensure system as specified by NMPED. There is also a $500 stipend available for middle school band concerts.
